He clearly isn't the long term solution for Vinny when he hangs up his boots.

Pep is now openly signalling that Vinny can no longer be relied upon which we have known for quite a long time now.

His long term replacement will come in the summer but for time being we might need someone on loan who is out of favour at his current club.

Pep wants two more at the back another midfielder to replace YAYA who can score goals as well and a striker who can get on the end of Mendy's crosses next season as well who can defend corners with ease ala an improved version of Dzeko style.

I am not sure Pep is interested in signing a Dzeko style player.
 
Watched him yesterday. He's nothing special. But if we remove the fact he's Johny Evans, a true odious rag then it does make a little sense.

He's a left sided centre half who's comfortable on the ball, positionally very sound, pretty mobile and knows the league.

That said, he is Johny Evans and so far from inspiring it's untrue. £10 million would be a deal, £30m we should be looking at exciting potential not adequate stop gaps.
 
Evans would be nothing but a squad player, city need a truly top class CB to be serious champs league contenders.....that and probably a top draw DMC to rotate with Fernandinho.

Should we be after players that are not top class? This would be nothing more than a stop gap solution.
 
West Brom signed a defender they had on loan.

Makes me think JFE is on his way...
