Originally could see the reasoning behind it, if it was a cheap homegrown option so we could then go out and get Mbappe/Sanchez etc. However, if they're after £20m+, best to walk away.

If the price is reasonable then i would not be bothered. He can defend. That what we need.
We have had so many shiny new expensive CB's that have not lived up for one reason or another. Someone who would not cost the earth, knows the league, has played in big games and is home grown - Ticks many boxes...
Came as a shock. But you can't argue with the logic. We aren't going to buy a central defender who will come in ahead of Kompany or Stones. But we need an experienced player who can cover if one of our defenders gets injured. I think it would be a very good move. I've been keen on a central defender all along and it allows us to bid for Mbappe, or Sanchez if that's what Guardiola wants

Does make you wonder whether we really want to keep the 2 non-HG spots for other business..

He was a rag and a gobshite when with them, but if he signs and does his job then so be it.

Suprising choice well off the radar.

Disagree. Centre half more important which is why this is a nightmare for me.

Think you're gonna find most transfer windows equally uncomfortable then. ;) We've got a manager who clearly believes the best way to defend is to attack and score first and score quickly.

Would prefer Mangala to stay but i think Evans would be a decent back up.

This thread is fucking hilarious reading all the bollocks spouted out.

I know someone close to this and it is going to happen.....it's all down to WBA agreeing to it he has an agreement with Pulis if a top 4 club come in for him as long as it suits WBA he can go

I would assume thats the reasoning behind it, we must really be putting the pressure on for 2 foreign players. No coincidence that we've been linked with Gibson and Evans in the past week.

The one thing that puts me off about this deal is the idiot element who would not give him a chance.

Urgh. Just no. If we sign him for £20m, honestly, it's going to be tough to be remotely positive about this.

Sorry but it's a big fucking NO from me

How the fuck can we invest in youth when we go for Evans

Understand it's cover but give Tosin a chance

This is a throw back to the dark days of signing Sammy Mclroy and John Gidman

No no no
