No; I know what you were doing. I'm thick, but not THAT thick! I was just wondering why you didn't post that in the Sanchez thread, rather than this one. That's all.

The conversation started on Thursday thread with a comment from @Danamy that he would take Evans if it meant getting Sanchez. That's all apologies for the confusion

Eighteen million pound bid?

Eighteen fucking million pounds?

Fuck me, I'm an unashamed Pep lover, but these are the first steps toward a bitter divorce where he takes pretty much everything and I am left with nothing but hatred and deep loathing of the useless fucking dog he left behind that shits everywhere....(and can't fuckin defend).

Jesus Christ did City get relegated or what?

This thread is one hell of a hyperbole shitshow.

I don't think as a club we value the CB position enough these days. We have one proper good CB but don't think getting another good one in is a priority. We have Jesus, Aguero, Sane, Sterling, Silva, KDB and Bernardo as attacking options and players like Fidel, Diaz and Roberts coming through as back up but we think we need to spend the big bucks at that end of the pitch.

fidel castro? is he any good?

I'm sure he'll win you back back by the end of the window...

I don't see what he brings, other than experience, I do see similarities to the Demichelis signing but he's never been mentioned among the top defenders(did the rags ever rate him that high?) like he was at his previous clubs.

Tosin looks to be becoming comfortable and competent at this level, I'd rather we bring him on, he'll probably do a better job already with the passing game and his positioning has been improving significantly on the defensive side.

It's money time in the window. I think if we don't know by now who's possible/not possible we're not doing our jobs properly!
Really coming round to this signing, especially as 4th choice. Talking to a couple of United supporters who know their shit, they say they're disappointed that Van Gaal let him go. Strong and brave defender, two footed, can pass, has excellent leadership qualities. Actually fits the profile of defender which Pep wants this summer. In terms of downsides, apparently he's a bit injury prone but a quick look on wiki suggests he's played 30+ games two seasons running for West Brom.
On paper, the risk in our defence is another injury to Kompany. I think we need to manage Kompany this season so that he doesn't play two games a week, so we need experienced squad players who can come straight into our team and not take months to settle. Fits the bill. Might be more expensive than we would like though.

Some of the reactions to what is still, essentially, a rumour are fucking ridiculous. Who did people think we'd buy as a fourth choice centre half? It was always likely to be a relatively cheap, pragmatic signing.
