PEP says we have to be careful we have not much of are budget left eh no striker weve got 1600 pages for what?

As I say it's my opinion that it would be a huge waste of money to buy him...but each to their own eh.

Agree.
In May, I watched him make mistake after mistake at the etihad. Bullied by aguero and Jesus. If he were to play in chimps league a disaster.

no...we add a third quality centre half so we have rotation without a huge drop off in quality..which is what we will have with evans....the squad depth is constantly spoken about on here....this signing doesnt add to it

Presumably our budget is prioritized for other targets though. Jonny Evans is presumably regarded as a cheap but viable temporary solution and will replaced with a top CB in a future transfer window.

Tbh, he would be better than Tosin imo, who isn't ready & needs to go out & learn to play v senior pros.

I don't like stop gap signings at all, but we've clearly made a fucking mess of signing a cb & perhaps Evans is the only one who might be available.

Because West Brom want to keep hold of him and when he's there he can be the captain and MVP (if you'll excuse the term). United let him go because they had far better defenders then than they do now, Evans would walk into their team ahead of Lindelof and Smalling in my opinion, and would partner Bailly.

All that bothers me is can he do a job for City in the absence of Kompany, and I think he can. VVD would make me even more confident but if we do that, we push back Stones. It's a good move for City. On paper anyway. Especially if it allows us to go for a striker. That is an aspect that is being ignored here. At the weekend Pep said he wanted 1-2 more players. This is part of the package. I cant compare Evans to VVD and say that Evans is better, but it's not as simple as that.
