No we're not, WBA are, we couldn't sign Bonucci for other reasons, so the two deals aren't comparable in any way.It doesn't matter if it's irrelevant. What matters is we are valuing Evans close to Bonucci.

Some yes, majority of others just don't rate him that highly.Correct....it's the rag thing and nothing more that some can't see past
Look at the scum he looked poor when I did watch em. I'll be going Of what I see with him in a city shirt if he comes and honestly last season when I watched West Brom on few occasions Evens actually looked ok, he might be shite he might just be a quality Back up defender for us.

Is this 'fourth choice' argument giving a false impression though? We all know that Pep thinks it's a squad, not a team game, so he'll likely play quite a lot and in a back 3, probably quite often. Then again, if that's the case, it's probably good enough reason for Pep to jettison Mangala.
Our shite full backs and a keeper who catch a cold didn't helpHe played for Man Utd and for some he's persona non grata. Forget whether he's any good.
We need cover for Kompany. Last season Kolarov, Stones and Otamendi went to pieces in his absence. I think Evans would be good enough to play in Kompany's absence, and 24 hours on I have not seen one suggestion of a home grown player who could cover for Kompany. That player has to be experienced. We're not looking for a young player who we can develop.
