He was out of his depth against fucking MK Dons. Not good enough for this team
Hmm. Struggling to know whose evaluation to believe. Some random rag on reddit, or Guardiola...?

Your point re Barca says it all. Pep signed some right shite for them at times but Evans wouldn't have been on his list.

Well he plays ok in a 11 man defense. what could possibly go wrong in our defensive 3
^^^^ This all day....In all my time supporting City I`ve never been more against an incoming transfer.
Why? It's a thread from reddit from two years ago. I'm betting that our actual manager. You might have heard of him. Pep Guardiola. He might know a little more than some faceless username on Reddit. What d'you reckon ? Or are we now taking reddit as the gospel in football scouting ?

Arsenal tried to sign him last year.In addition to these well formulated statements I am personally concerned that so far no other top-club seem to have recognised the talent of Jonny Evans. In the time since he left United, other top clubs have bought CB's. Chelsea did it, Arsenal did it, Liverpool did it. And yet I can't recall having seen Jonny Evans being mentioned as a candidate for any of these clubs buying in the position where Evans plays.

2 years ago and still shit to the day...
The viewing rags at the time thought he was shit who made him great all of a sudden?
That's just one of many on the web about him he's gash and 30mil is fucking joke for a has been..
How long as Pep watched him to think he's good ffs everytime I've watched West Brom he's been shit...
8mil then 30mil fuck off not having in any climate...
To be fair, he probably thought he was selling 'Mike' SmallingPep knows way more about Evans than LVG apparently who deemed him not good enough for a possession based team.
Indeed they did and maybe they would have been better off signing Evans I don't know. I am not a huge enthusiast myself but was responding to a post saying that Arsenal (and other teams) hadn't attempted to sign him.And yet they ended up preferring to spend 35m plus on Mustafi.
Exactly what makes me laugh on this forum is the amount of hate because he's played for Man shite, who cares if he puts on a blue shirt he becomes a blue, didn't tevez play for them however there's no mention of that, not saying for one minute Evans is tevez, however they did wear the same shirt end of argument reallyPep knows way more about Evans than LVG apparently who deemed him not good enough for a possession based team.
The problem a lot of people have is "what will the Rags fans say".About time they grew a pair.Exactly what makes me laugh on this forum is the amount of hate because he's played for Man shite, who cares if he puts on a blue shirt he becomes a blue, didn't tevez play for them however there's no mention of that, not saying for one minute Evans is tevez, however they did wear the same shirt end of argument really
Stones is a young player which potential that's why we paid so much for him which is why he's worth a lot more than Jonny fucking Evans. Evans is shit end of story hope we don't buy him.people saying they've watched west brom and evans is shit, when west brom fans think he's been their best player since he arrived ???????????????????????? are some people talking bollox to get their point across ????
For a player that could hold his own in the City team if he goes then £25M does seem a tad cheap as he's better than a few they've got IMHO.
If Boro can rate Gibson at £30 million, Stones cost £50 million or whatever, then Evans is easily in the best 10 defenders in the Premier and would in my opinion command a fee comparable and equal to either of those mentioned. I cannot believe that our lot would settle for less.
If true it'll be 25m plus 5m. Take it I say. He's been a Rolls Royce of a defender bur it was only a matter of time before someone bigger and richer came in. Given his age and injury record (which will only get worse) it's time to sell big.
Interesting, here's a sentence from an article when Arsenal were after him last year. "Arsenal have reportedly been told by West Bromwich Albion that they will have to pay £25m in order to sign defender Jonny Evans".
I hope it falls through because this guy is hard to replace for many reasons, experience, composure, reading the game etc
on that web site some says deal done £25m
