Does anyone see City bringing in both JFE and Laporte this transfer window? This strikes me as being one of two possible things WBA are trying to stop JFE's price dropping through the floor or City are trying to convince Bilbao we might be looking elsewhere

Speculation heightened that City had turned back to West Brom skipper Jonny Evans, after the Baggies brought in central defender Ali Gabr on loan, with a view to buy him in the summer.

The Blues are unlikely to bring in two centre backs, but Laporte remains the more likely option – and City may still snap up Evans in the summer, when he will be available for £3million if West Brom are relegated

We're paying his release clause. There's no convincing that needs to go on as far as Bilbao are concerned.
 
Don't believe the Simon Stone story at all unless Laporte one is wrong. Idon't see us getting two CB's at all.
 
Imagine this - the Laporte transfer rumours are a cover to fool the world while City nick JFE off West Brom when everyone's sleeping. Txiki masterclass incoming.

Nah. I think if West Brom get relegated and he's available for £3m, he'll take the opportunity to get a last big pay off. At that price, he'll be able to command a hefty signing on fee that I doubt we'd be willing to pay.

Yes that's kind of how I'm reading it, it almost pays JFE to play out the season send WBA down and then claim one last big payday, I guess what would blow him out of the water is if they stay up!!

I agree, not a chance will we sign both if what happened in the summer is anything to go by. We apparently couldn't sign Evans because Mangala wouldn't leave so I seriously doubt we will sign Evans, Laporte & keep Mangala as well. Also I doubt Mangala would make way.

We were ready to sign Evans in the summer but Mangala's "proposed" move to Crystal Palace didnt go ahead as he didn't want to move there.

If a suitable club comes in and we do sell Mangala then I would expect that the club would get both.
