Sounds like De Laurentis is coming round to the idea...He's been taking a hardline up until now but these comments make me think, it could happen...

Aurelio De Laurentiis (Napoli president) to The Sun: "I think the deal [Jorginho to City] can be done in the next few days. Everything is possible as we have a good relationship with Manchester City and their people but we must negotiate."

De Laurentiis: "We are still not in agreement over the price for the player but we'll be near to the conclusion as they made an effort in the last few days."

I sometimes wonder if good players should just sign one year rolling contacts. Sure there is a gamble they could be injured or their form dip, but they would not be held against their will when they want to move on. It would also stop people whining about huge transfer fees as it would effectively kill them dead.

People may say contracts give clubs security but do they? Once a player wants out his heart and head isn't at a club anyway.

They would end up having to bring in rules to stop it, as players would just be walking out following success around.

Pogba would be begging on Pep's doorstep.

Yep agree notice the rags have an option of another year once the player deal is running down so even if the player wants to leave on a free that option in the contract stops them and gets them some money

It's been reported in the Italian press that De Laurentiis has said we verbally agreed 60mil euros but went back on that agreement when we offered 45mil(euros)

De Laurentiis has complained that Manchester City reneged on a verbal agreement to pay €60m for Jorginho by offering €45m. Negotiations will continue tomorrow, with Jorginho telling the president to let him go to City. Napoli have dropped their request to €55m. [Il Roma]
