If anything DM should be the position we should overpay if anything. DM is the most important position in the system.

Personally I think keeper and CB, are the most important positions. Tempo tends to start with them positions. We were able to rotate the pivot possession last season with s lot of success.

I'm quite confident that we could stand still and not sign anyone this year and still be in the box seat for the title, there will be other options out there and we will find someone to fill the gap. If he chooses to go to Chelsea instead then good luck to him I wont lose any sleep about it.

I'm not bothered as I don't know his game. How do you know we haven't got feelers out for other players? If we haven't signed him, I think it's a conscious decision rather than an error. I think we must have known what was going on, and either were powerless to stop it, or didn't want him enough to try and make him ours.

Had we not had this experience twice before (with Alves and Sanchez) then I’d be inclined to agree. Unfortunately, the club’s previous actions suggest otherwise. This deal has been “imminent” for months now, so I doubt we’ll move quickly to secure an alternative unless Txiki either blows the bank or lowers the bar.

Agree re Jourgingo he’d be nice but not game changing for us. Disagree re standing still. We need to avoid the failings of our last two championships- where we failed to strengthen and didn’t defend the title successfully. We do need a couple of players.
