Jorginho

Go on, I'll bite, how exactly have we messed this one up
Because we clearly wanted the player but couldn't close the deal for some reason despite agreeing an overall fee two weeks ago? It's not the end of the world but it's actually ok to admit we mess things up every so often.

My point is this guy hasn't been at the world cup and we've been chasing for weeks. One of the keys to last season was the early deals we got, why have we taken so long here and been seemingly "gazumped"?

We’ve treated this deal like every other deal. If Jorginho sticks to the arranged agreement then we’ll get him.

The club can’t help it if players go back on agreements.

To lose our first target was regrettable to then lose our second target after being first in a one horse race for two months is unpalatable , both against our rivals next season dont see how those on here can be satisfied with the outcome i am sure we will end up paying more to get someone of his ability

I'm more disappointed in losing Fred than Jorginho. Fred wanted to come here, but for some reason we chose not to pursue.

If what Brennan has said is true then it smells of Napoli and Chelsea trying to effectively get us to pay more for Jorginho so that they can offset that against their compensation they are trying to sort for Sarri.

Bingo. Either way, I’m genuinely not that arsed. We need defensive midfield cover, but Jorginho looks to have as many shortcomings as he does strengths from what I’ve seen. If he comes he comes

The weirdest thing is the older players getting older is a catastrophe but no one says anything of Sterling, Leroy, Jesus, Stones, Laporte, Bernardo, Ederson even Kev getting older and making us better.

Age is an issue because getting old makes you more fatigued, need more recovery time and be more prone to injuries.

Going from 23 to 24 doesn't make you less fatigued or need less recovery time or be more injury resistant.

The two don't balance out, because it's not about quality, it's about the physical load of playing 50 games a season in a very high intensity team. Sané, Sterling, Jesus, Stones, Laporte and Ederson can all become twice the players they were, but if Fernandinho gets injured, or loses a yard of pace, or can't play 3x a week at the same level, we're still fucked.

So it's really not weird at all.
