Jorginho

Jorginho makes sense as a replacement for Yaya and cover for Fernandinho who at 33 may begin to struggle. It doesn't make any sense as a replacement for Silva
Funnily enough I heard Gabrielle Marcotti, on Radio 5 live the other night, say that, in his opinion, Jorginho’s particular skills are more suited to playing higher up the field, in the Silva role, rather than playing further back alongside (or deputising for) Ferna at DM.

But then again, when your DM’s starting position, prior to kick off, is, more often than not, standing on the halfway line, I don’t ‘spose it matters all that much

FFS Marv it’s not me saying it pep said David won’t play as much next season!

And well done to all conerned for that.

Merlin is undoubtedly irreplaceable & we’ll miss his creativity badly whenever he isn’t on the field next season.

However it’s typical of our current ownership that they’re more than willing to put David’s own personal/family situation, way before the best interests of the club as a whole.

You definitely can’t buy that sort of class.

We will miss Silva. I hope he signs up for a rollibg 1 year extebsion as I can see him playing till he's 37. Then again Foden is going to be the mutts nuts.

@Marvin sorry mate just read my post back from this morning. Sorry for any confusion but wasn’t meaning that Jorginho would be more creative than David Silva, didn’t explain it properly what I meant. It was more in the fact that without Merlin as per what pep said that we would be more creative if kev was as pushed further forward And dinho and Jorginho played together but not as a comparison to last season. If it was up to me David would start every game but I think the club are allowing him to spend more time back home. Sorry for being sharp, don’t think the caffeine had kicked in. ;-)
