Yeah good point. Admirable stance to take, but player + agent won't wait forever to see if we can haggle couple of mill off the price, especially if there is another attractive offer on the table.

Yeah I just dont see what other clubs will learn about this. Selling to the highest bidder still the best idea from a selling club. Once someone comes in with a higher offer and especially higher agent fees any former verbal agreement will be like a fart...

If we dont want other clubs to come into it we have to make the whole negotiating very quick.Which is the opposite of what Txiki is doing as he is getting the terms ready with the player find out if he is comitted and then tries to lower the price from that point even if it takes weeks to get it done.

Seriously if UNited comes in with a 65m bid for Mahrez 4 days ago after we spent 2 months and also some time in January to agree a 60m deal that would have gone down bad as well probably.

I’ve come to the conclusion this gentleman’s agreement and letting them go on holiday is actually part of a psychological profiling test for the player we’re interested in. The only way to explain or stubbornness when it comes to certain players.

Also Laporte had a release clause of 55m or 57m pounds and we paid as we had no choice to negotiate much there.

Wonder if Jorginho had a 55m buyout close would Txiki paid for it without question? I guess our final offer was between 45-50m somewhere.

The way we are selling every youngster that we can make some money from and the way we are stubborn over 5-10m extra fee, we are either in some tight FFP situation/calculation or we are collecting some big money for a big-big transfer. No question we spent a lot last year with Laporte coming in January as well and winning the league also activated lots of bonuses which could be bit of a hike on the expenses in the accounts.

Cant wait for the fucking Nike deal to go away with the peanuts they pay us compared to some of our rivals deals. They made an ugly shirt for us for last time on purpose.

As if we would work in such a way. This was just someone’s ridiculous theory that you seem to believe. It’s amazing how people believe what they read & then put their own spin on it - which is then believed by the next person. And so on

Well this is a bit of a kick in the teeth for the club but honestly how can any of the criticisms about how we approach our transfer business hold water any more? Now Chelsea, United(twice if you we include Pogba with Sanchez) and Liverpool have all gone for players that City were already in for and got them by offering significantly more than City were prepared to pay.... Next time they pipe up with the money club bollocks remind them of that and tell them to "stick that in your pipes and smoke it you high and mighty deluded fucks!". :)

Any player who hesitates or pisses us about we dont need.

Sergio Aguero didn't want to come here initially, he wanted to go to Real Madrid but Atletico refused to sell him there and we were the only other option, we certainly weren't his first choice. Cook* had to lie to Silva and Yaya to get them to sign, because neither was sure about moving here.

Did we not need those players? Would you rather we'd told them to fuck off because they hesitated or pissed us about?

That's how stupid this stance on "we should only every buy players who'll run here, barefoot on hot coals to show how much they want to be here" is.

I don't think he was serious

I think he's right & it's what we do.

We talk to the player & if he says he wants City we bid upto our limit. If he or the agent are willing to go elsewhere, for more than our offer, we let them. If they push for a move to City, we sign them.

Mahrez has just done it. We can't possibly be the only club who would buy him but we have been the club he promised to sign for. So he's here.

If Jorginho told Chelsea to do one, he'd be signing for us. If he doesn't we'll let him go there.

Genuine query - how did he lie? What did he say? "Oh, yeah, Rocky will definitely score 35 a season."

Both were stalling in talks and failing to be convinced by the project so allegedly he told Silva's camp that Yaya was already signed, and told Yaya that Silva had already signed to convince them they would be in good company. If either one had not been convinced by the other signing they'd both have fallen through.

How do you know what Marwood says to potential transfer targets?

Could you just give him a quick call & ask for a genuine update on the transfer situation- seeing as you are privy to his conversations

God you’re so smart aren’t you. You’ve really slapped my arse haven’t you? I’d give you a round of applause but I don’t think I could get my limited brain power to muster the muscle movements to perform such an act. Sorry for wasting your time.

You are aware that he's spoken about this in several interviews? It's pretty much his favourite story, regurgitated it every time an interviewer asks him about City

You’re a bit sensitive. If you post something - I guess you think it will be read by someone who will ask questions.

No. Never seen an interview in which he says he lies to potential transfer targets. Will look out for it
