Maybe he just wants to go with Sarri to Chelsea? Why’s that so hard to believe? Yeah we’re an attractive club but we’re not the only option for players

Because both him & his agent appear to have been totally taken by surprise by the whole thing. I don't believe Chelsea or Sarri or especially London, are such a huge attraction that you dump on City & Pep on a last minute whim.

My only concern is a lack of physicality in the team. Liverpool and the Rags took advantage of our emphasis on smaller ,mobile, lightweight players.
Your right. More spefically for me it's the lack of physicality, in that DM, position, with the exception of fern.

I think Fodens physical development at this time may count against him, besides he appears to thrive 20 to 30 yards further up the field.

Which might be true if he wasn't taller and heavier than Kante and still developing.

Don't think I've ever been so 'Not arsed' about missing out on someone. I'd trust Delph to take some of the weight off Fernandihno when games are already won, to keep him fresh in his old age.

Can't help thinking we've got a bit of a surprise coming mind. Something a bit left field.

Please tell me your not trying to compare kantes core strength to fodens. Please. One is a man the other is a boy. There are numerous reasons why no club in Europe would play a boy that age in that position. Physical development being one of them.

Fernandinho is far from being finished

He’s in the physical condition of somebody 5 years younger than him. Doesn’t carry an ounce of fat and never gets injured or show signs of fatigue

We can 100% totally rely on him for another 2 seasons minimum

Well if he's that good we wouldn't have been looking to put a £50m signing in front of him to block his chances of ever playing for us, would we? Or perhaps more importantly, he'd not have joined our EDS because he'd have first team offers elsewhere.

More likely the kid is being looked at as someone who might develop into being capable of taking Fernandinho's squad place in 2 years.
Highly probably.
I was a tidge concerned at Fernandinho at the world cup. I wonder if his form next season will just fall off a cliff. I hope not. he should last another two seasons but you never know.

Why does everyone care so much about what we've briefed the press and how we play the PR game? Is there a PR points table I'm not aware of? We felt we had a deal and obviously to some extent we were quite close to one if we didn't have one. Things changed and the people changing it weren't City, so of course we are likely (still) the last to know about what is going on. What exactly do we gain by being the first to declare a deal dead and act like we never wanted the player? I totally get that we could have just said nothing but it feels like so many are somehow angry at the club for someone who isn't the club changing their mind.
Don't give a fuck personally. We were lied too. End of story.

I prefer Barca's and Madrid's method of beating an effective high press, which is pass around them with precision so they end up pressing thin air.

Plus it's simply not his game or position from what I've seen if him playing for England and the appearance s he has made for City. No way at this stage of his development would he be thrown i to cover a position that by all accounts he has no experience of playing in professionally.

I know your right it's my preference too. But now and then in addition to what you have suggested I prefer more robust qualities against certain teams. Ie/ Burnley away.

We can't spend 50 million on a player for a couple of games a season,we have shown we don't need bruisers in the team to get to 100pts,the way we play we don't need someone like that
