I'd argue though that we're not on a high enough level yet for Mourinho to be interested. He does seem to prefer taking over a top 2 type team and improving that extra bit to make them champions them rather than taking over a longer term project with a lower placed side.

People tend to overlook Mourinho's achievements with Porto when making this argument. Taking them to the CL was a stunning achievement imo, and has earnt him the right to take the subsequent jobs he has taken.

Winning the CL with Porto was no doubt a tremendous achievement but again Porto were consistent trophy winners/champions in Portugal when he took them over.

I'd really like to see him, at some stage of his career, take over a mid-table side and see what he can do with them. If he's successful at Madrid, it's hard to see what other real challenges are out there for him other than that.

In the same manner that he takes all the pressure off his players if things aren't going well, he also laps up all the glroy when things are going excellent. Thats partly because the media have allowed him to do so but it's just the way he is. He'd instantly stop the majority of media city hate-fest we seem to have over here.

no media can force you to talk about your future a minute after the final whistle.

you always can say "tonight we have to celebrate , I do not want to talk about my future , Inter is champions league winner , treeble winner , tonight we will talk just about it "

then , after 2 days , you can go for your way. but in that manner you have showed respect for the club and for the fans. this.
