Game time isn't always equal to development just look at how Pep used to get slaughtered for not playing Foden at 17, despite that he had played around 50 games by the time Paul Scholes at the equivalent age had even made his debut for the rags.
Patience is a virtue at times there's no need to rush the development of a top young prospect when he can learn off others around him, stylistically Kimmich is probably the perfect mentor for Rico to learn from and if Kimmich does sign he'll learn a lot more just from being around him.
Sometimes players like that just come and do a shift week in week out and hardly have a bad game . I used to love watching David batty play and he used to do the simple things so good allowing for the skilled players to express themselves . We don’t always need a team full of great passers .I'm also uncertain if he's spot on for us but many people, not just City fans said the same about Gaz Baz, a player you had to watch in person to appreciate.

Of course he would learn from him, but if we sign Kimmich it will mean Lewis will play less imo. ‘Game time isn’t equal to development’ - every player needs game time to develop and we’ve seen that with foden in the middle. Lewis isn’t 17 either. Palmer, Mcatee, Trafford and pretty much every young player we have had needed game time, otherwise they don’t develop or end up leaving. I’m not saying they should play every week either.
I think we need to stop comparing foden with other youngsters, he’s a once a in generation talent. Ricos development path is nothing like fodens.
When David silva left we didn’t sign a direct replacement, which meant foden got more game time. He probably would have gone on loan to develop in my opinion if we did.
Lewis is starting to influence and start games now. Why not just develop him, keep giving him games, instead of buying ready made players. He could end up being better than Kimmich and cost nothing.
