Joshua Kimmich

If he was so desperate to stay at Bayern he wouldn’t have left his renewal so late, he probably fancies testing himself in the Prem but only a handful of clubs he’d have an interest in.
 
Why should Kimmich throw away his best card that is leaving Bayern on a free next summer? Bayern hate that thought, they just want to extend on lower wages.

Kimmich could even wait til next summer and decide to stay or leave on a free. No hurry at all.

If Bayern want to avoid that threat, well they'll have to agree to a painful compromise in wages.
 
When you have Kova in your squad then you don`t need him. Kova has the same profile plus he`s faster & on less wages. Under Tuchel he lost his place to Pavlovic & was shifted to the RB position. Kompany now tries him as a CM. Wasted money.
 
Could we try for Kimmich in January? Could be a very useful option in that he can play in both of our problem positions albeit not at the same time. Still hasn’t signed a contract although he’s apparently in talks but it maybe doable

My guess would be almost certainly not.

Dumfries might be slightly more attainable, but not sure Pep would want him.
 
Always thought it would be a long shot but I always get a bit suspicious when players haven’t renewed and are in the final year of their contract.

Davies & Dumfries would really help, giving a bit of width, pace and physicality. Would also help rotate CBs or if Pep felt a 3 at the back situation is what’s needed to stop us leaking goals. Sadly we don’t often go for end of contract deals. Madrid do it really well, getting Alaba, Rudiger, Mbappe (ignoring the enormous sign-on fee) for nothing.

Leave us even more open with 2 full backs bombing on, need to sort that as well from the list. Gomes? not sure on other mids in there.

Gvardiol leaves us open anyway, at least we’d have some recovery pace. Plus it’s allow 3 at the back or Stones, Akanji or Gvardiol to play in the middle to cover for injuries/fitness/form.

would like to see this system with wingbacks over wingers but 0% chance i think pep switches to it or we sign any

Lamptey cover/ replace Walker
 
Interesting that Kimmich has stated he won't wait until the summer to decide his future. I'm of the opinion that if BM were happy to keep on paying him 20M per annum the contract would be on the table by now and if he was willing to take less that would also probably have resulting in a renewal

I think it was reported they want him to take a significant pay cut.
 
Still would an excellent signing but wages would probably be an issue. And besides that a younger midfield signing would have to be made as well. I am not sure that would be Viana's plan.
