Genuinely how much have you seen him play? I’ve barely seen anything of him apart from the games v us and he was average.

That isn’t why I’m sceptical however im sceptical because as I mentioned previously I remember the same people in the transfer forum saying upamancano was a generational talent and was going to be world class.

Just seems shiny new toy syndrome. Laporte and ake are two of the best left sides cbs in world football I just don’t see how this guy is going to improve us particularly when we are supposedly paying a world record fee!

Laporte can't defend as a wide CB/LB in a 3 as he doesn't have the pace - we'd be absolutely rinsed in transitions and transitions are what keep Pep up at night. As a more traditional lett sided CB yep, he's absolutely superb and it's definitely a shame that he's going - the end of 21/22 especially he put himself through agony to play. It just doesn't seem like Laporte can play how Pep wants us to play.

Yep. See got some replies basically telling me to keep my opinion to myself and not to share them on a public forum. Seems if you are sceptical or god forbid critical of the club in anyway some can’t seem to take it.

We are signing a defender likely for a world record fee and there is no guarantee he gets into our best starting eleven. That is absolutely insane to me when we have holes in midfield that need filling
