Not one of those so called experts mentioned the fact he would be comfortable transitioning into midfield.
That’s the main reason pep wants him imo.

You have to understand that most of these dinosaur pundits come from a time when tactics were lump it to the big lad up front and hope for a knock on and a midfielder was a defender who could run further, they dont understand a player like gvardiol and like most people who are clinging onto their last bit of relevancy they critcise and deride what they cant understand

It's actually quite refreshing to see some in depth analysis of our transfer dealings as we don't get any of that on domestic tv/radio stations in the UK which are almost exclusively devoted to the Rags.
