Ake didn't quite his the ground running and was carrying an injury at season end, if he started in the form he showed towards the end he wouldn't have been 4th choice

Sometimes life is about moments and opportunities though? Laporte like you say may want to leave in a year but why could Josko not come in for a year, play some games, learn the pep way etc and then at 21-22 years of age fight for a starting spot? Unfortunately stones gets muscle injuries for weeks every season so maybe he would end up being the rotation defender?
