and i think it’s a quite sad and insular point of view, that i can’t have a good vocabulary because i’m a foreigner. my english isn’t even that good apart from vocabulary and spelling.

anyway, some croatian things on my swedish shelf, including my vintage dinamo zagreb scarf. i really am

i know he was talking about gvardiol’s work not mine, he was snarky about me posting that info and i don’t think it’s the language barrier.

The original post, by blueparrot, I wouldn't take anything negative out of. It was mildly sarcastic and jokey, but I doubt it had any malice or intent behind it. That is not his style, and if he had said it to me or another regular, we's have chuckled and took it as a friendly nudge.

The other subsequent posts questioning your being here etc, I find a bit harsh and uncalled for. But there have been a few oddballs that long-term posters would have seen over the years, and some are wary. Don't be put off by it, don't feel the need to get defensive over it either.
