Josko Gvardiol

Move on from probably the best young centre half in Europe at 21 years old. Do me a favour! We're talking a 10-12 year career at City. All because of £10mill-£15mill difference in valuation between the clubs or the terms of the payment. When did City get so short sighted and stubborn?

Need to just pay the fee if we want him or walk away and go for another target like Bastoni. Another club will pay over £100mil for Gvardiol in the near future, if we don't.
We could have got Bastoni for about £45m beginning of summer transfer window. 1 year left on his contract, but just renewed for another 5 years after no interest from clubs at that price. He is a great ball playing CB and plays on the left of a back 3. No chance now.

More games that we’ve been recently linked to barcola and cherki at lyon?

Would mean lyon less desperate for cash from leipzig for their cb

But the “rumours” are that the selling club are trying to get more …..rumours like every other post. We don’t fall for that. We have a squad that can cope - we’re not desperate

Anyway. We have to agree to disagree re our views & opinions on this issue
These matters are complicated and what we hear in the background is only a snapshot of what is happening. It is not as black and white as some appear to think. The people engaged in negotiations are best placed to make the necessary decisions. That said should this deal fall through after a long stand off questions will be justifiably raised about our approach.

the phenomenon of BM members inventing whiny flappers to throw eggs at instead of engaging with the meat of the argument is bizarre. The only thing people said is that the transfer window has been a very poor one so far. We have taken quite a few L's on things we wanted to achieve - we wanted to get bellingham, rice, gvardiol, gundo, we wanted to keep walker. These things didn't end up happening, not necessarily due to our fault, but they just didn't. It is inarguable that things haven't gone according to plan, I don't understand how acknowledging that makes you entitled.

Not necessarily saying this for your comments, but that's a bit like whacking someone in the face than pretending you were just being entirely reasonable in trying to flick a bit of dirt off their forehead. I.e the phenomenon of BM posters being selective and highly disingenuous.

All depends if they're on a train fast asleep though :)

Pep would never come out public and criticise the club so we would never know of any grumbles he has. Maybe he even likes the challenge.

The above is similar to what I have mentioned. We couldn't negotiate a deal for Jorginho but paid the release clause for Rodri, we couldn't originally negotiate a deal for Laporte but paid the release clause in the end.

Ruben Dias, Cancelo and Mahrez are the only big transfers we have been able to negotiate over the last 5-6 years. 2 of which we had a replacement in Otamendi and Danilo ready to go the other way.

What do you think the reason for that is? It obviously isn't money, because release clauses often cost more than the reported asking price in these negotiations?

No, pay it! Then walk away and never deal with them again. Just like we are doing with the Napoli President, Daniel Levy, and the Brighton owner. Forgot his name
I would just walk away to be honest if it was up to me. I believe Price and terms would’ve been discussed and agreed at the very beginning of negotiations ,not on the final stage . Lipstick reasoning is a joke and city should never deal with this amateurs ever again .

Not you @FP but some of the stupid twats sticking their oars in should perhaps try ( difficult for the most opinionated clowns ) and appreciate the complexities of transfer dealings.

Pretty sure our management do.
