That said, be on the lookout for Leipzig’s pre season game today be Udinese. Could indicate if there have been any negotiations at all. Not definitive obviously, he could yet play. Just in case he doesn’t, might get interesting.

If it does seem that the Gvardiol team leaked it to Romano then hopefully we arent in the bad books with them but more the players camp.

I presume you mean Rice as back up top target? Either way I wouldn't get too caught up in thinking in terms of a strict list of players. There will be exceptions sometimes such as Haaland but I suspect that there would be a number of names on the table, all of whom would be acceptable. They'll then decide to go for one of them first and if that doesn't work out then happily move on to another. I'd guess that all are contacted through their agents to see if they would be interested in the first place but I wouldn't read too much into which club was officially contacted first. After all you can't put bids in for them all and then decide which one you want to keep.

This is ignoring the fact that Gvardiol is (nominally at least) a CB and not a DM, although you won't find me trying to second guess Pep.

Yes mate, Rice was the next target after Jude. Hopefully we get deals over the line both ways asap and start to settle the squad down with Pep? I`m sure promises were made to him and of course things can change in the blink of an eye with transfers but this one it seems we have always known the number so we either do the deal or move on?

I have no more idea of what will happen than you do but by all accounts it's not quite as simple as saying "how much do you want" and RB have apparently been moving the goalposts which won't help.

I'm confident it will get done regardless but I'm KFA so we'll see.

Surely every genuine ITK would be reluctant to divulge any detail info following tantrums by RB even if he or she had received any info?

No doubt some media will bullshit with guesses presented as facts but this one is sensitive and both parties need a scapegoat if things go not to plan or to NDA.

Just an opinion with zero knowledge of how trusted media would behave in this case.

The 2 rumours that have surfaced for why the deal was derailed seem to be the leak and the payment terms. Both those suggest the actual fee isn't an issue and has been agreed.To me anyway.
