Maybe this is a way of me making peace with his exit, even if he did find a sudden spell of fitness, but does anyone else think there's a modern style of footballer who excels in Serie A but will never translate in the Premiership?

Jovetic, Llajic, Lamela, maybe Pastore... there are some guys in the Italian game who get time and space on the edge of the 18, and the Italian defenses seem to hold their formation and wait for the next move. In that kind of environment, these guys can be lock-picking geniuses. They're worth a fortune in there. But I don't think they really translate in England. It's a different skill set than Silva's, which is much more proactive - one-touch pass and make a run, hit them before they've settled. And they'll never see that kind of time and space in this league.

I agree .
He does look a very good player when he 's not injured .
That's the big negative in Jovetic .

He has a knack of being in the right place at right time, but ALAS doesnt do much with it. Either flicks it, shoots or gets tackled. But hats-off to his attitude on the field, he really digs it in and gives his 100%.

Excellent post mate! Exactly my feeling. Italian defense is more passive than here in EPL.

There's something to this. Jojo can have these utterly brilliant moments around the outside of the box where he seemingly creates something out of nothing; but it's happened far too little for us - I don't watch much Italian football, but if you're telling me it's because they play a bit more reserved then I buy it. I have trouble shaking this feeling that Jovetic is going to be a star that really breaks out at some point though.. (you could argue that he already did for Fiorentina I know) .. but it might just be back in Italy. I wish him luck. It's a bit sad to see out Balkan contingent being broken up piece by piece. Kola might be the only one left by August.

Inter closer to Stevan Jovetic. The last contact between the agent of the Montenegrin Fali Ramadani and the Nerazzurri have led to an agreement now to detail. According to reports gathered by TuttoMercatoWeb.com the Nerazzurri will ensure the former Fiorentina striker with the formula of loan repurchase obligations, set at around 15 million euro to be paid into the coffers of Manchester City.

15m euros for Jovetic would officially make us one of the worst selling clubs in the business. A list of bang average players to have gone for more than that would be alarming.

But the initial loan itself could carry a fee to bump that up.

Correct! In total the deal should be around €20m easy!

Telegraph still running the story of liverpool bid of 16M pounds for Jovetic

Edit: in the transfer rumors though

I'd hate to sell to Jovetic to Liverpool, but if we did I would hope to bleed them dry.
