That's absolutely terrible. Nearly as bad as when Hooky got Rowetta to sing it.
I have also seen there's plenty of dates for "Peter Hook and the Light" for UK and Europe in 2022, may hold out for them instead.
Ive got TFAD,bit dull,but i expected nothing else tbf.Touching From A Distance is pretty grim but is about a relationship as much as about a band. I agree Morris's books are probably the best as Bernards and Hookys continually take pot shots at each other. Paul Morley is releasing a book about Anthony H Wilson later this year which may be good
Ive not stumbled across the Blue Monday Diaries,but i do remember an interview in Sounds or NME when a band nember decscribed their time inNew York recording the popular electronic tracks BM and Confusion..with the obvious benefit of state of the art production / synths.." we felt like bank robbers to be honest"I thought the Blue Monday Diaries was brilliant, but I suspect it’s only for a hardcore fan like I used to be. I like the intimate details of how they wrote, recorded and socialised back then.
Nothing on Joy Division but a great band still. Shame about them all being up their own arse....it's often reported that Hooky is the one who loves himself but through personal experience he's absolutely sound, always got time for a chat.
Mark Burgess of The Chameleons was saying something on facebook a few months back about seeing them over in LA and they didn't even come out and say hello to him...
