Joy Division / New Order thread

Saw Hooky on Saturday night supporting The Damned at Wembley Arena. A total Joy Division set with some explanation of why they were there, first punk single him and Barney bought, him and David Potts big fans. I was really impressed and looking forward to the Rochdale gig now in August.
New Rose ?

Mate saw them as well.He thought Hooky was shite as did a lot of the audience. He said they had somebody else on bass for most of the songs.
He thought Marc Almond and The Dammed were good but another band whose name escapes me were the best of night.

Its usually Hookys son that plays bass.

Disagree with him there and most of the comments I've read rated the set. Hooky's fingers were strapped up but he did play some bass during the set.

I thought the Courettes were OK and Marc Almond was really good.

I wonder if position in the arena really does affect enjoyment. I was to the left hand side of the stage in the seats and thought the sound was excellent. Others have criticised the sound with it being held in a concrete shithole ((c) Captain Sensible).

I see that they’re going into to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, not that I’d imagine any of them will give a toss.
Despite it being a 10 min walk from where I live, I’ve only ever been in the the Rock Hall once. The JD/ NO display in there had a typo, naming ‘Steven Morris’ as the drummer. I did send them an email pointing out the error. Maybe I’ll go down one day and see if it’s been corrected. Cleveland residents get in for free.

Hooky will be there. He has been well behind promoting their inclusion.
I could maybe see Stephen and Gillian going. I think there is fucks chance at Bernard going.
