Juanma Lillo | Leaving the club before the CWC (p52)

They have not struggled against low block football. I remember us winning everything there's to win last few seasons playing more than 90% of our games vs low blocks.

We have struggled. Pep has said so himself.

Are we talking about struggling during the most successful period in the clubs history, setting and breaking records year on year?

Or are you just talking about the most recent 6mths?

I'm talking the last 2 seasons, maybe slightly longer, where the physical and counter attacking sides seem to have taken over possession based football, in most leagues around the World.

Struggling to break teams down. People keep pretending we haven't but we have, many times we won games by sheer persistence or a goal out of nowhere. If we hadn't we quite easily could be talking about 2 league titles on the bounce rather than 4.

What did that physical and counter attacking side win during the same period as us?

I don't need to pretend. We fucking dominated the toughest league in the world like never seen before. European teams took a few beatings as well.

Complaining that we won games by sheer persistence is mental. We're not talking about 2 though, were talking about 4.

OK mate. In my opinion we dominated in 20-22 winning the league by 12 points. If you think we 'dominated' just because we happened to win the league;

21-22 1 point
22-23 6 points
23-24 2 points

Last season we literally limped over the line because Arsenal bottled it and we have somehow been very good at grinding out results after Xmas, we played awfully at times though, very similar to the slow ponderous footy we saw a lot of this season. If you think it we dominated then fair do's, no hard feelings.

Sorry for de-railing.

Lucky City just grinding results out after Christmas to win 4 in a row whilst playing awfully

I’ll always remember his years at city with great fondness.

Without him where would we be now?

I think that taking Xavi in with a view to taking over when Peps contract expires is a perfectly sensible suggestion but then again others won't.
Alright, I misunderstood you a bit. I thought you talking about "now", not when "Pep's contract expires", sorry for that.
But even in that case, I rather see Pep extends his contract than seeing any other manager taking over him.
