Judas Priest.........The Greatest Heavy Metal Band Of All Time?

Didn't go to Port Vale but did go to Donnington in '84 to see Diamond Dave and Co. Also saw Mahogany Rush at FTH, where Frank Marino had more pedals than the Tour de France.

I managed to make Castle Donnington in 1981, and I have to say it's the wettist I've been as it absolutely pissed it down for the entire day and night.

ACDC headlined, Whitesnake (the real one with Paice, Lord, and Coverdale in the line up), Blue Oyster Cult, Slade (who were absolutely excellent), Blackfoot and More.

Happy days couldn't do it now, however I did survive watching ACDC at Wembley in July of this year however I needed a 3 night overnight stop in London to prepare and recover from it lol

Motorhead are the loudest band I've ever seen live.

Port Vale football club 1981 absolute scorching hot day, apparently it could be heard 11 miles away. Insane by todays standards with health and safety et all.
Agree with that, Motörhead are insanely loud, seen them at the Manchester Apollo Last year...my ears were ringing for hours after! They really are a Great band Credit to Lemmy and co For carrying on the music all these years

Always loud, but for me, it was Black Sabbath at the Free Trade Hall in 1975 .... aged 15 and was in pain it was so loud, lol.

Like Keith Richards he should be dead. An accomplished bass player, there are some amazing bass riffs from both his time in Motorhead and also from Hawkwind.

Hawkwinds "A Space Ritual" is an awesome double album/cd of what now is known as "Space Rock", with Lemmy on Bass guitar. Awesome stuff.

Totally agree every time I saw them they were loud back in the day, however all bands back then were loud.

I saw David Bowie in 1978 and I still had ringing in my ears for more than a week after the gig. Status Quo back then were also seriously loud.

Lads and lasses today will never experience that......which is sort of sad in a way.

Ah well "Health and safety"!!!

Looks like time and health have caught up with Lemmy, he's been struggling the past couple of years and they're currently pulling gigs in the US after he walked offstage after 3 songs the other night. Shame, as you say, Motorhead on form were breathtaking and were still on form up until very recently but I'm struggling to see them coming back to be honest.

Anyway, back to the OP, it's Maiden. New album out on Friday and it's staggeringly good.
