He definitely is overhyped. He’s decent enough, will end up being a very good player, but he’s not special and nowhere near as good as people are making out.
Cole Palmer has looked very good in a few CL games so far and if he was playing in Germany he’d look fantastic. No bugger is talking about how good he’s going to be though outside Savage and Lescott last night and the City fanbase in general.
Agree that he is overhyped. He generally doesn't run games or control them in a way you'd expect for someone who is hyped like he is. The reaction to his England performances which were largely invisible against Italy and then the same in the first half against Germany show just how big the hype is. He was involved in Shaw's goal and then won the penalty by overstretching for a ball he failed to control. But that's just what the English media are like.
For 19 though he's an impressive talent. Give him 4 years and he could very well be running games. He's got the ability and talent to already influence games at the top level and under Pep you'd expect him to add that element of control which is required to be a midfielder. Foden has kicked on a lot in the past three years. Outside of Gavi and Pedri, there aren't many young talents like him performing consistently well for such a young age. Palmer is older than Bellingham to put his performances into context.
