Same thing is happening as it did with Haaland. Spanish press just broke news that Bellinghams world cup performances have made Madrid want him more and they are in the driving seat.
So if we go by media both Madrid and Liverpool are in the driving seat/Pole position for Bellingham haha

He was never very good in the first place.
People are just naming players that were over-hyped from the beginning. Rashford is a good player, very good on his day. But Bellingham will clearly become a considerably better player as long as he has a bit of luck on the injury front.
Bursting onto the scene and peaking as a footballer are two very different things.
I've said it before, the parallels between this and Haaland so far are making me increasingly confident. We've only just been name dropped by the media and even then it's apparently a certainty he'll go to the dippers. Much like Haaland was a certainty for Madrid.
I don't underestimate the powerheads at City recognising an opportunity to piss Liverpool off - after the scouting hack, the bus attack(s), the coin attack(s) at Pep, the recent Klopp comments etc. - while also getting a readymade superstar who would also go a long way to keeping our other superstar (Haaland) particularly happy in the process.
Plus unless they get taken over, they can't compete financially.
Plus unless they get their act together, they can't offer Champions League football either.
Getting Haaland was sweet. As sweet as getting Tevez was in 2009. Both because they pissed off Madrid, United and the footballing world. But getting Bellingham here would be next level piss boiling and I'm all here for it.
Just looking at the odds for his next club, if he was looking to move does he have to do it by the end of the next window, or just anytime in his career as long as it is his next club?
