I like him but it’s true he has not had his finest game. Not helped by Southgate though, not playing an adventurous team and tactically inadequate. Rice and Henderson are a pathetic pivot. I don't see anything that City would want, totally anonymous in most England games I've watched. Can't remember last time he won the ball today and he certainly doesn't go looking for it.
To me he still looks unfit. Maybe he's just naturally bulked up a bit but I'm sure he seemed lighter on his feet about a year ago. Now he moves like he's about to hit thirty. And that's being kind.
Comes from playing a silly amount of football at 19 when he's still growing into his body. Nothing to do with him being unfit.
