Part of his thinking when deciding to sign for Madrid was that the referees are more biased towards them in Spain than they are to City in England?I don’t think it was as much about not making it in England (though, that could have played a factor; as someone who has regularly watched both the Premier League and La Liga for last 40 years, the former is much more difficult than the latter, especially if you are playing for Real Madrid), as it was about not thinking he could make it at City, as we don’t receive anywhere near the favouritism and deference that Real Madrid do in Spain or Europe, or make it under Pep, who would have been far, far more demanding than Ancelotti.
i very much doubt that.Part of his thinking when deciding to sign for Madrid was that the referees are more biased towards them in Spain than they are to City in England?
Me too. Some people just can't accept that a decent player didn't choose to sign for us.i very much doubt that.
Shows some lovely touches with the ball, strong and determined, good passer. Drops out of games too easily sometimes
So have you watched his performances in the champs league this season ? If you have then you have missed something - if you haven’t then you have still missed something - keep watching and you will see - as I say he has talent but not as much as folk think - I hope he does get better but for me he does not look anywhere Near yet - he is. Very good as short passes I’ll grant you that so his passing stays come up very well - he is physical but such a weed when tackled - give him time and he may make it back to div 1 and shine there again !Its nonsense as it was a pure guess to say he didn’t fancy the Premier league and couldn’t cut it
The lad has stepped up and more than made the grade at each stage of his career and is only 20
He’s English and was ripping it up at 16 in the championship so why people would think he couldn’t cut it here is baffling
To suggest there was a thought process on his part that I’m not good enough to make it in England so I’ll sign for Real Madrid where it’s easier is to me nonsense
I'm more gutted about the quarter final now that I know we were virtually playing against 10 men.So have you watched his performances in the champs league this season ? When did he call us a plastic club? Produce the evidence. You're coming across as monumentally bitter. He's an exceptional young player, and if he ever comes to the prem we'd be lucky to have him.
Joining Madrid/Barca is the dream of many players, English players included. It's nothing out of the ordinary.I don’t think it was as much about not making it in England (though, that could have played a factor; as someone who has regularly watched both the Premier League and La Liga for last 40 years, the former is much more difficult than the latter, especially if you are playing for Real Madrid), as it was about not thinking he could make it at City, as we don’t receive anywhere near the favouritism and deference that Real Madrid do in Spain or Europe, or make it under Pep, who would have been far, far more demanding than Ancelotti.
