It's funny, I've been pushing back the thought of not wanting KK because I know how much we need a solid CB... but now that I see this deal that could see us sign a young- motivated- quick talent with potential and many more years in City blue I truly do not want KK especially if we could send Ota the other way in a deal that I think would appeal to him as well (been here 5 years... deserves some manner of respect).

Ssooooo.....all that Messi stuff was just a smokescreen for negotiating with Sevilla for this kid. Cracking work by the City transfer team there.

Kounde just feels more like a City signing to me than Koulibaly. I know Khaldoon mentioned a change in age profile (Messi/Koulibaly), but for me, this kind of deal I like more. It’s better when players grow with us. I hope it happens, I’m bored shitless of Napoli/ADL now.

Exciting young player, great potential, little to lose on deals like this.

Even if he was to fail, you will always be able to get some sort of fee back, if Koubaily comes in and fails, dead money, and a very expensive failure.
