This window is bizarre. I thought we were going for Koulibaly but I understand why we didn’t. I watched Sevilla when we were linked with Diego Costa and wasnit impressed by him. However I thought Koundé was excellent so it’s a little disappointing we’re not going for him. I know very little about Diaz other than he played well at the Nations Cup last summer.

Kompany and Laporte aside we've struggled at CB for years and I'd have to think on the last regular partnership of decent quality. Kompany and Lescot springs to mind but there haven't been many in recent years. If we sign Kounde I hope he's the real deal and not another expensive duffer. I take it he's a RCB and not left ?
