Looks good. Obviously never watched him so can only base on others who have and clips.

Probably doesn't deter any plans for a Haaland-like striker, and maybe is in anticipating for clearouts from now (Ferran) and the future (Mahrez, Jesus, Sterling?? Who knows)

I’d guess the timing of this move will be based around maximising his chances of being in the Argentine World Cup squad, so he may not join us until December.

This is definitely plausible for WC selection but I think the return loan deal is until June. City can then either extend the loan with River until Dec as you suggest or either bring him to City or loan him out.

City may also contribute to his salary whilst at River to smooth the deal.

An Argentinian striker, whose name begins with 'A'?

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if history repeated itself?

Maybe others had started sniffing around him, and we thought, "For 17 million, it’s a no-lose situation".
If you do a Google search search for him, then click on "news", our quiet neighbours were supposed to be interested in him......

If we do buy him and loan him back he will be probably the best paid player at river plate, they will probably pay him whst he earns now with us topping up the wages
