of the epic fail of Barry and Irelands ability to CONTROL a midfield and because of our mentality that we can't win for shit away from home.

Barry may have an excuse in that he has played every game this season and needs a rest and Ireland may in that he plays just behind the forward, HOWEVER, there is no excuse for these two to be producing such utter puke on what seems to be a consistent basis.

Ireland and Barry must be dropped they are the main reason for our shortcomings.

On a positve note Viera looked world apart when he came on as did AJ, the two must play V Bolton.

We desperately need a midfield maestro in the summer.

Just got back myself and I would say our midfield pair of De Jong and Barry were woeful. They can not play together. As someone else has posted everything Barry did today turned to shite. Ireland together with these 2 does not work! Viera is a must start instead of Barry.

Re: Own up, who hates the derby.

I knew barry wud cop it 4 our poor performance again. I thort he workd hard in the middle and did a lot of gud stuf but was let down by de jong who was completely anonymous, offerd nothing and was chasing shadows all game.

Agree with everything in the OP.

Our midfield seem to never control a game, they need to dictate a game so that Bellers, SWP, Tevez can make chances for themselves and score more goals!!

We need to dictate games from the midfield, do that and with the pedigree we have up front we will win games!

Indeed, It's a mystery to me how Gaz Baz retains his place, it's a world cup year of course and dropping him has implications, today he was cumbersome and unimaginative. He did however show his ability to be in the right place , unfortunately his ability to affect the place once in that position has diminished as the season has come on.
The subs were baffling, withdrawing Ireland is almost unforgivable, he is a natural midfield foil for a dominant more aggresive midfielder, Vieira may provide that but Baz and NDJ do not.
Character is in short supply and Tevez looks exhausted after his semi final efforts.

Shay was terrible , Boyata I can forgive as he may become a legend , if he was English I maybe could forgive it more.
The SWP situation is worrying as opposition managers target him but Bob cant see it obvioulsy
Ho Hum

So the answer would be to drop, for me Barry. But had we been at home today I would have dropped De Jong. Viera is a certain starter for Tuesday.

Think Michael Johnson would of been great in that game(tin hat on)

Think yer right. MJ has a positive approach to his football and his first reaction is moving forward with the ball, not passing it back or sideways. Why can't they get him sorted FFS?

He's closer to fitness than I realised. He may even get a game this season.
