the one in stockport? smiths?

just spoke to my best mate today as he also lost his job few months back, getting him down - work has dried up in his line.... he is a fully qualified floor fitter and top notch at what he does....has wife, 2 kids, mortgage and now pressure on as savings running out and bills to be paid.....the odd day here and there not what he needs. This guy has his own van and 20 years experience from domestic to large commercial work....

my other mate went back to work after new year to be told by boss, 'leave the van keys we have gone bust' - not even been paid for last month....shite! g/f and him just had baby few months back as well....he is gutted and I spoke to his wife who is physically sick with worry.

I have never known so many people close to me losing their jobs or under threat of losing them....cannot see it getting better and UK seems totally fucked and priority all wrong spending billions on foreign wars and bailing bankers out of the shite.....

I have been made redundant in the past and know feeling, good luck to you all really mean that.

maybe a bit of light at the end of the tunnel,
i phoned my boss from my previous job and he has said he will give me my old job back but it may be another 2-3 weeks so fingers crossed.
always leave a job on good terms and never burn your bridges.

whats the delay? tell him you'll work for free for the two weeks as long as you can have time off to attend other interviews till he makes his mind up.

bit of a downer with no money but it gives you purpose in your day.

well i sign on tomorrow and im going to keep looking for other jobs in the meantime, i know what he is like if i did what youve suggested he would delay it for a couple of weeks longer and it would probably give him cause to give me less money as ive not told him that ive been laid off because if i did he would give me a lower wage.
thats just how he works im afraid.
