I cannot fukin wait for the window to open... oh and who then have we wrapped up, pray tell

apparently it's bentley and parker. i'm not even joking. they've just been named in a times article, funnily enough, saying exactly the same thing (players mentality letting hughes down) as a times article that appeared at the same time last year, that nailed our targets for that window.

Bentley and Parker?

You have to be fucking shitting me.

Is Bentley better than SWP? NO!
Is Parker better than De Jong or Barry? NO!

Fuck me, we'll be signing David Nugent next. Why arent we looking to improve the squad? If we are in for a CM for me it would have to be Vladi's international teammate Marik Hamsik. Great future within the game and not only does he get back and help out, he also gets forward and scores goals.

As for Bentley i could name probably 100 names that would be better and more realistic targets than this. Another sign that Hughes is out of his depth if the Times is correct.

Unless they plan to sack Hughes before Mid Jan the above would be a good move.

1) if we extend his contract it cuts speculation and the only downside is having to pay him out if he is ever sacked, this would mean two things 1) if he is sacked he would behave much more favourably to City. the downside is it costs us a few million which lets face it, to cut speculation and bad publicity after it would be well worth it if you were Mansour.

2) as for the 100m well as long as it is spent on players that Marwood and Mansour support, the price is right, they fill a need and are reasonably young or cheap then i see no issue here at all as if Hughes goes they will be there for a new manager and if he stays and they do well again it is no lose.

So actually Hughes inner or Hughes outer the original post probably makes a lot of sense!

At some stage this season we're going to have to make a decision one way or the other as I can't see us letting Hughes go into the last season of his contract.

I think now would be too soon, we'll have a much better idea of things by the end of January.

Moomba in other circumstance I would say you are spot on, however if money doesn't matter then we may as well try and minimise speculation as lets face it if we pay him out 1 or 2 years if he gets sacked no one cares.

I would have thought if Hughes is here after the first semi then he will be here to the end of the season, if we were to change managers it would have to be at the latest early in the jan window and we would have to have another lined up. hopefully once this date comes round everyone will just accept him as manager till May and civil war will stop.

Also I suspect that our owners have talked to connections of most of the top managers and that maybe Hughes is staying because the likes of Mourinho, Wenger, Capello, etc etc aren't remotely interested in City.

Hi All,
Ok so slightly off topic but wasn't sure quite where to post this.. Back in 2005 Sanctuary Music produced a series of football themed albums. Manchester City FC were one of the clubs involved and they advertised on their official website for musician city fans to submit songs for consideration for the album. Having been an avid City fan since 1981 I took up the challenge and decided to write a non cheesey Man City anthem. Any of you who were at the recoding session at Eastlands will have already sung a small part of it. As it turned out Sanctuary dropped all the original songs by unsigned artist (as is their want) so The Calling has sat gathering dust since then. Given the good recent good run in the Carling Cup I have decided to try and resurrect the song. I have tried to contact the original production team to no avail, I have contacted Key103 to try and get some interest from them and again I have had no response. I have also contacted the marketing department at the club but again no response from anyone. I would be very grateful if you could have a listen and if you think it worth pushing harder. I wrote this song for the club I love and for all the supporters and so far no one has ever heard it in fact no one really seems to be in the slightest bit interested... It just seems like a waste. You can hear the song on www.myspace.com/soundbyteproductions
Many thanks for your time.

Haha I just don't want our fans to be split down the middle over our manager. He wants us to do well and I believe we should back him and the board and the decisions that they make for us. We will get better with time. Teams see City as a challenge and they up their game. Once we find a way to stop them and get past them we'll be fine.

Mark, you asking for advice on the tactics for the weekend??
