Just how bad was Lee Bradbury?

He was pretty shit but so was everyone at that point. The combination of the price tag, expectation, Frank Clark and Franny Lee destroyed him before he had a chance. The amazing thing was we got the best part of £1million off Palace for him.

How about Lee Russell. Striker that was then played at left wing back?!!! - Think if memory serves £1.1 million(ish)
Craig, wasn't it? From Sunderland if memory serves me right.

Oooops............apols, now that would be a hybrid...possibly the best striker to play for City! That could be a new thread...which 2 players would you combine to form perfection.............no wait.....maybe not............

Lee BADbury wasn't a good signing for us ...... to be honest he's struggled for goals at almost every club he's been at ..... even in the years after leaving us he played 63 games for Oxford , and only managed 9 goals ........ and how hard could it have been to score there?

And he's only scored 9 in 77 matches for Bournemouth over the past couple of years.

I'm from Oxford and used to go up the Manor before i was old enough to travel to City on my todd. It is easy to score for Oxford. John Aldridge scored a couple of thirty plus seasons

I remember the sense of anticipation when the news of this signing broke. Mostly because it was unheard of for a second tier club (as City were at the time) to spend that sort of money on a player and secondly because no fucker really had a clue who he was?

I recall putting teletext on one sunny afternoon and seeing the headline City sign the new Lineker and seeing the fee of £3.5 million and looking at my Dad as if to say 'who'?

Needless to say he really was poor. Yes he was surrounded by shite but jesus wept!

wasn't it his form knocking a few in for some army-canteen-pub team that alerted the professional football club to his skills?... it certainly was a mess....

Truly shocking.......although I seem to remember going to Burnley for a pre season friendly and many people were raving about him. Couldn't for any reason see why. Oh happy days

I think he scored a hatrick in that game.

He was so bad everyone used to chant BARRY BARRY for Barry Conolon in jest

Poor Frank got excited and thought hed found us a terrace hero!!!

Was anyone at Paul Lakes testimonial where they called all the England internationals off after 10 mins - half yerniteds team and Bradbury for the U21's from us
