Just love this pic...

I am going 76-77.
We won that match 2-1.
The fans are happy and Madeley is pissed.

It's 1976/7. Earlier in the thread, trying to date another picture, I discovered that there was a minor difference between the collar of the home shirt we wore in 1976/7 and the one for the following season. It's shown here: http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Manchester_City/Manchester_City.htm

The Leeds game was on Good Friday and was the first of three games in four days. The following day we lost 2-1 at Anfield, which gave Liverpool an important advantage in the title race, and they never surrendered it. On Easter Monday, we beat Boro 1-0 at home with a late goal from Asa Hartford after Boro spent the afternoon managing to suffocate us (as they did very effectively in those days under Jack Charlton - except in the 1976 LC semi 2nd leg, of course). Bit of a mental fixture programme, but no one batted an eyelid back then.

Dint know where to put this, but as it's a pic, thought I'd chuck it in here.
It's a question for Gary James maybe,or anyone who can maybe answer..
I have this newspaper,it's an original from 1955(pic)....there's just a random pic on the front of our then team, nothing whatsoever in the paper.
Anyone know why?

Newspapers and mags just did this sort of thing. They'd sometimes use a team photo to attract people to buy the paper/mag. Of course back then there were less sports photos in newspapers/mags and with little football on TV etc. a photo was as significant for buyers as an article about your team.

Cheers Gary.

Thought I'd add this seeing as it features a player who inspired the user name of a poster on this forum:
