Just met Thaksin

My son and I have just bumped into Thaksin and his daughter at the Mall of Emirates in Dubai, we noticed a group of Thai tourists all bowing and thought it was to each other until my son pointed at Thaksin!

We approached him and introduced ourselves explaining our love for the club and thanking him for starting a chain of events that have left us where we are today :)

He is a really nice guy and spent a few minutes talking to us and commenting how he still watches us play and believes we are looking great!

Nice one Ajay, no matter what his situation he sold the club to someone who can now make a difference, thanks thaksin

good work ajay! glad you thanked him for his intervention! we must remember this is the man who found the right investor! we could have ended up in the mess that portsmouth are in now and it scares me that al fahiem was even involved!!!!
 
Met him in Emporium shopping centre in Bangkok around xmas 2007....was having a coffee with his missus, was decent enough, showed my City tattoo which pleased him

Last i heard the Nicaraguans had hired him as some kind of ambassador , and now he shows up in a shopping mall in the Emirates ...... good for him , hope he stays one step ahead of them!

Good luck to Thaksin. He was good for City and good for Thailand by many accounts too, especially the poor and downtrodden of the country who still think he's great. Perhaps that's why he was overthrown by a military coup.
 
I think Thaskin deserves a great deal of credit for what he did at City.

Ok by the end we were deep in the shit, but he put us back on the map.

He brought arguably the most high profile manager available at the time in.

He bought loads of quality players (what ever you say, the likes of Charlie, Elano, Rigsby, & Bianchi were better than the likes of Corradi, Samaras, Dabo, and Sun who were at the club at the time).

He managed to sell the club on in around a year.

Macintosh had tried & failed for five years to attract a single investor!

God knows where we'd be now if it wasnt for him......probably playing MK Dons today at a guess!
