The pavements are still a fucking joke to and from the stadium, not slush but a sheet of ice.

This shouldn't stop the game from going ahead but i can see the health and safety police umming and arring over it.

I want a game ffs.

me too, been too long,, actuallt had a weekend off for once, missus at work all weekend so i thought great, about 4 live games on sky to watch and they all cancelled, dont have espn, so couldnt even watch the rags game, after weds postponement and more concentrating on not getting hypothermia against middlesboro than watching game, i need to see some bloody football,

but im confident tonight will go ahead,, city have a shed load of grit which will hopefully sort the pavements out!!
Mike, Shadygiz sorts out all the games on Matchday forum so on a Saturday when city are not playing all you have to do is click on and enjoy
Thanks Shady

Walked to work this morning and the pavements are awful because parts of them are just ice however it's nowhere near as bad as it was against Stoke on Boxing Day so no reason why the game shouldn't go ahead

cheers,,

might have a look next time nothing on the telly,

just started to snow in ramsbottom, only lightly,

wont affect match as stadium is about 20 miles from my house, but will make it tricky for me getting there if it carries on, more chance of seeing the pope up here than a gritter!

with all our injuries would it not be better to be called off

no it would cause a fixture congestion,

already had to rechedule the 2 derbys, and the stoke game, plus still have to squeeze everton at home in somewhere,

even with injurys, we are still stronger than blackburn

and we need to get into top 4 asap, and cement ourselves in the top 4

Sack that. We're gonna have one hell of a fixture pile up at some point if this doesn't go ahead. We can still put out a shit hot team + RSC and SWP are in contention

plus Blackburn will have one eye on their semi against Villa on thursday night.

fat sam won't be expecting much from trip to COMS tonight.

We are going to have injuries no matter when we play them. I cant see any reason that with the players we have available we shouldn't comfortably beat Blackburn, thats not taking anything away from them, but we still have more than enough quality available to beat anyone.

Its just started with light sleet in Bolton (where i work).

Hopefully it'll turn the ice into slush ready for tonight.

I only live a mile away from the ground and the roads are fine, even some of the through-roads in Miles Platting are ok... the road that runs parallel with Every Street is a bit snowy still but traffics moving.

Pavements are ok, it's mostly hardened snow as opposed to ice.

Looks like a whole lot more schools/colleges have gone back today .... although that's probably owing more to government pressure over exams than anything else ...... the government are playing down how bad it actually is so they get less flak about actually NOT doing something earlier , and MP's are trying to divert attention from that saying things aren't THAT bad.

It's still very , very slippy , and i've witnessed schoolkids falling over this morning ...... the game really shouldn't be on in my opinion , if only for conditions outside of COMS , a car could easily slide into a supporter , or someone could fall and break limbs .....

BUT IT WILL BE ON!

the pavements outside of the sportcity complex are not City's responsibility, it is only once people are within "the walls" that they become our problem.

the weather today won't affect the situation, imo the game will be 100% on.

just get there early as traffic and parking will be shite.

As much as you're right in that pavements outside of the ground/complex are not Citys responsibility , the welfare of supporters attending the game are ....... and more and more clubs are looking outside their stadiums and judging whether or not it's safe for fans to actually get to the game.

Plus there are other agencies , such as the police and council , who's opinion has to taken into consideration ..... and they see the 'wider picture' than merely just the game ....... the game WILL be on , but maybe only because the club don't want to a 'backlog' ....... but maybe it really shouldn't be!

Exactly. That's why the club wont be calling this off now, the only people now would be the council to call it off.

The game SHOULD be on mamba it's getting fucking ridiculous all this postponing cos of a bit of snow. It's way OTT, get the fucking games on FFS

I have to question that mate. I'm not calling you a liar but having been past the ground this morning to my sisters (couldn't be any more in front of the stadium).... it were mainly slush to me. The council have also been working around the streets of the stadium as well.

if it is gonna be called off, we would of heard of some doubt by now and a possible inspection,

it'll be on, mark my words,

imo if the pitch is fine and there isnt a foot of snow outside then all games should go ahead, if people dont like snow / ice then stay at home or in pub and watch on espn
