Just Stop Oil protests

Not against anyone protesting about something they oppose.

Just don't stop the general public from going about their own daily lives or trying to ruin their enjoyment (sports etc...)

Once they do that, they lose all public support for me.

One could argue with what they are doing, blocking roads etc... is achieving the exact opposite of what they are trying to achieve. They need MORE public support to join their rallies etc. People are already sick to death of them and their stunts.

Think it’s still at the minute around ensuring the conversation continues rather than trying to convince directly tbh. I would say the opposite happens too though, and others get more impassioned in their support for them.

Fair enough mate, you think it’s acceptable what they’re doing and I don’t.

I genuinely see both sides to the debate.

Also, considering I work in Oil they’re potentially putting me out a job! But deep down I sympathise and know humanities dependence of Oil is seriously destroying the world and environment.

Preventing people from getting to places of importance doesn’t sit right with me and I think it’s baffling that people think it’s acceptable.
I suppose acceptable means different things to different folk. At least they’re not setting fire to cars and looting shops like some protests end…

The amount of hypocrisy in this thread amazes me mate.

Fair enough there are people supporting JSO and their actions. But conveniently forget about them when they fire up their car in the morning, or when they are jumping on a jet for ther second or third holiday of the year. Or even when they are at the Etihad watching millions of pounds worth of talent. All Assembled by a person that has earned billions off the back of the black stuff.
