The amount of hypocrisy in this thread amazes me mate.

Fair enough there are people supporting JSO and their actions. But conveniently forget about them when they fire up their car in the morning, or when they are jumping on a jet for ther second or third holiday of the year. Or even when they are at the Etihad watching millions of pounds worth of talent. All Assembled by a person that has earned billions off the back of the black stuff.

Fuck all hypocrisy from me. I believe in the right to protest regardless of wherever I agree with their cause or not.

What’s the betting these protesters are travelling around the country in their cars? I don’t know if it’s true or not, as I don’t usually believe anything the papers say, but one of the protesters used to work at Shell and he’s got a huge pension which he’s living from. The hypocrisy with this climate change topic is off the scale.

What shall we all start doing, binning our cars off? It’s just not feasible, yet these no life fuckers are getting away with stopping people getting on with their lives.

Such an absurd viewpoint. Just by existing humans create co2 and damage the environment around them.

What these people and myself want is more aggressive forward thinking efforts to minimise and where possible reverse harm to the planet and ecosystems. I'm not expecting someone to go live in a paperbox and not wear clothes.

If you’re angry about them spraying paint over a building, just imagine how angry those protestors are themselves at the government issuing new exploration grants for fossil fules despite committing to doing the opposite at COP26. I mean, they’re that emotive about it, they’re willing to risk assault or prison whilst trying to get their point across. I highly doubt they’re all CEOs of wind farms so they’re doing it for altruistic rather than selfish reasons too.

I’m not saying that as a way of convincing anyone to agree with their view btw, just that if people are pissed off about Wimbledon or the cricket being delayed by twenty minutes, it pales into insignificance compared to how pissed off the protestors themselves must be about something, they’d argue, is far more important to all of us.

Fairly simply I would say, the clue is in the message.....

I hope they crack on relentlessly to be honest, as the future of the planet is more important than some two bit twat being late for "his job".

No view on the protests but do you seriously think the future of this planet will be affected by anything as puny as stopping using fossil fuels? The planet has been as hot as 3,500°F and as cold as -130°F, all without human intervention. It'll add two days tops to an incoherent, no resus patient sitting in its own shit and wailing in agony.
