Probably more like a couple of hundred fans,like myself and my 16 year old son who didn’t get in
Yes all us die hard City fans like myself who were refused entry to the stadium for committing the heinous crime of having a match ticket that didn’t match ze passport name and ze information
A lot of seriously disgruntled City fans who,like myself spent thousands getting over to Italy,time off work etc to be told by ze authority we are not allowed to support ‘our’ team
Thts it for me personally after 44 years of going here there and everywhere I am finished,I’ll never go again which is a shame as I have loved it but the love has gone,they have taken the enjoyment away from it
The next time I hear anyone mention empty seats or see Pep encouraging the fans to make noise I will go ballistic
They have built this great big stadium but the likes of me are not welcome

You was never one to follow the rules.
Why would they do this when it clearly states the criteria being used to gain admittance to the ground.Maybe some top loyalty points fans and supporters clubs buy tickets for every match and pass them on for most games?

The knock on effect is people on less points always miss out unless they know someone.
Huge difference in points needed when your name has to match the one on the ticket like it did for the semi in Madrid.

There was no need in this case and for lisbon match for any City supporters not to purchase their own ticket if they had the relevant points.
Everyone who has travelled to Italy and Real Madrid in the past knows you are going to be checked on entering the ground.
I'm no apologist for City and its ticketing policy but they couldn't have spelt it out any clearer.
People buying for every game and selling/passing on is one of the reasons the points system became knackered (and were several on the ticket pages on here years back that seemed to have ‘a spare’ for most away games. You can’t complain that away games are full of tourists or new fans, while simultaneously using other peoples tickets - the two things create the same outcome ie high points buyers with no intention of going, just to pass or sell on.
Club should have sold this much lower from the start but also I don’t see why it can’t introduce random checks where you have to show proof of travel if you bought a ticket for the game. Used to happen with England away games back in the day and was effective.
