Juve away

The warnings were there, yes, so you do it at your own risk but a lot of those fans wouldn't have known that it would go all the way down to members so got people further up the points ladder to sort them a ticket. In hindsight they should've waited of course but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

My mate's son asked me to sort him a ticket but once he'd seen all the blurb about passport checks he soon decided against the idea!
I'm surprised so many got caught out it's a given you won't get into a game at Real Madrid or Italy with the wrong name on ,city aren't at fault for this when it was made perfectly clear this was going to happen.

On the off chance anyone's interested, the old fella passed in the early hours this morning. We've spent over 40 hrs by his bedside as he caught pneumonia, and we were told it’s only a matter of time.
We're lucky our mothers still around and they've been married 67 years, won't find too many who've reached that milestone.
Mams understandably in bits. Typing this full of beer and emotion.
No matter what age we are, when a parent goes and when you're very close to them it hurts
Took me to my first game at maine rd when I was 5 in 1964.
Have loved the journey ever since good and bad.
If the mods or whatever think this is a load of sentimental crap, just erase.
Heads in bits.
R.I.P. Dad.
Sorry for your loss pal. Hope City put on a show tomorrow for your Dad.

He was on our return flight from Bergamo, Ryanair, the cheapskate!!! (Front row though) PS. Smart Doc Martens!!
Yes noticed the boots, I never do as a norm as dont look/give a shit what people wear.

Soriano was on our Ryan Air shit the bed flight to Charleroi in 2021, thought they would be on a private jet!

Absolutely correct but there are some football people (not just City fans) who genuinely believe that they can just rock-up and blag their way through the security

Sorry guys, but this isn't 1980s Bredbury Hall when you could avoid the all the legendary strict protocol by sneaking into the residents bar at the front of the hotel.

This is Turin and if your ID doesn't correspond with the name on the ticket then have a good night in the Huntsman

I’ve been to Roma and Napoli in the past,Italia 90 a few games so my experience of Italian football and the legal system of Italy isn’t as high n mighty as some of you super fans and outright experts
I am no saint like most of you who turn up with all your relevant documentation and clap when you are supposed to
I wing it,make my mind up I’m doing something and I go for it,it goes tits up but it’s all down to experience,we win some and we lose some,Turin was a winner on many parts but as for the game then that was a fuck up,my son who is 16 had a fantastic time, learnt valuable lessons but has been put off slightly
I feel sorry for the young ones, they love the craic watching city but hate the shit you have to go through just to be able to watch a match
yes I blame city, they are in receipt of my £100 that I spent buying my ticket, they are the club who I have been watching and supporting for 44 years, maybe I live in the past and won’t change and move with the times, the times are not changing for the better in my humble opinion
We just want to watch some overpaid Spanish and Portuguese fellas play for our team, why do they have to make everything so difficult for us to do that,it’s my club not theirs
I just feel sorry for the bloke who took his 6 year old lad stood outside Juventus stadium pissed off that he couldn’t watch the match,I’m old enough to know how bad it has got now and I bow out with dignity and pride that I quit at the right time

Although I had the correct documentation, I agree with your wider point, and unless we play at a stadium that has never hosted City previously, then that will probably be my last visit to Italy for a football match.

The game finished around 10:50pm with hardly any added time, but we didn't reach our hotel (walking distance from the bus drop-off point) until around 12:50am.

However, it's not just the farce of being kept behind for our own safety and then the ridiculously long bus ride.

It's more the sense that having reached the age of 60 I simply can't be arsed with the hassle anymore: not just the policing (which I thought was relatively low key) or the farce of the ticket only arriving two days before the match, but also the ever expanding number of anti-social obnoxious twats whose idea of a good time isn't the same as mine.

Perhaps I've finally qualified as a FOC, but it was interesting to witness an older bloke snapping at somebody half his age who was acting like a complete prick on the post match bus. Similarly, the anarchic behaviour of a small, but significant minority as we marched through the city centre around 12:40 provided enough evidence as to why we were kept behind in the first place.

Utterly fucking embarrassing, and perhaps it marks the end of an era as we lose Hadge Johnson and celebrate the life of Tommy Muir in the same week.
