Juve away

I sent my ticket to a mate who's an exiled blue living in Geneva. I gave him the ticket for nowt, he was buzzing as he rarely sees us these days.
Told him the potential problems with the name and D.O.B on the tickets. He thought it wouldn't be a problem so made the journey. Couldn't believe how OTT they were as he didn't get in.
First chance he had of watching us for a few years. The fact that we got beat is irrelevant. Match experience in Italy in general is not good, they should take a few tips fr Germany.

Acts of kindness and generosity towards your fellow City fans are a thing of the past
Conform and do as you are told or face ze consequences

I’ve been to Roma and Napoli in the past,Italia 90 a few games so my experience of Italian football and the legal system of Italy isn’t as high n mighty as some of you super fans and outright experts
I am no saint like most of you who turn up with all your relevant documentation and clap when you are supposed to
I wing it,make my mind up I’m doing something and I go for it,it goes tits up but it’s all down to experience,we win some and we lose some,Turin was a winner on many parts but as for the game then that was a fuck up,my son who is 16 had a fantastic time, learnt valuable lessons but has been put off slightly
I feel sorry for the young ones, they love the craic watching city but hate the shit you have to go through just to be able to watch a match
yes I blame city, they are in receipt of my £100 that I spent buying my ticket, they are the club who I have been watching and supporting for 44 years, maybe I live in the past and won’t change and move with the times, the times are not changing for the better in my humble opinion
We just want to watch some overpaid Spanish and Portuguese fellas play for our team, why do they have to make everything so difficult for us to do that,it’s my club not theirs
I just feel sorry for the bloke who took his 6 year old lad stood outside Juventus stadium pissed off that he couldn’t watch the match,I’m old enough to know how bad it has got now and I bow out with dignity and pride that I quit at the right time
I'm a bit baffled it reads like you bought your tickets from city in your name and they wouldn't let you in having informed you you required ID ,?
Or have I got this wrong ?

The replies to your post were because you blamed City.
It isn't a problem that you winged it, no one is against that. They commented that City made it very clear that the Italian cops would check tickets against passports so how are they to blame ? (and you still blame them)

If you suddenly fancy a holiday in Spain do you turn up at the airport without your passport? If they refuse to let you board whose fault is that? In your eyes it's City's.

City cannot control another country's laws. They can only warn you about them. They did.

3 sides to every story: yours, mine, the truth.
Doesn’t surprise me there was more to this than originally posted
There was no abuse of any one disabled mate
The lady in front of me also couldn’t see for people standing at balcony during game
As regard tickets they were purchased legitimately
What I don’t understand someone assaulting a fellow blue in his sixties

Fuck that walking about with such an important thing as a passport
It could easily get lost and that round be a nightmare
Maybe bring in ID cards like Hitler wanted
On a slightly pedantic point

I agree completely about the feeling of unease when walking around a foreign city with my passport in my pocket

However at Juventus I got in with my credit-card-sized driving licence as ID.

Was at Juve and am in a pub thinking about throwing away the derby win. Is what it is.

On a positive note - it was good to see our non-Uk based Blues at the Juve match. Os harder for them to see City in the flesh and good on them.

Your absolute full of s… there was no abuse towards disabled nor anyone else… for a guy aged around 40 to attack a fellow blue regardless in his 60s is absolutely criminal any info of who the attacker was would be great! He attacked him twice wasn’t just a one time thing he was a bully showing off… thanks hope the coward comes forward.
