Juve away

Probably more like a couple of hundred fans, like myself and my 16 year old son who didn’t get in
Yes all us die hard City fans like myself who were refused entry to the stadium for committing the heinous crime of having a match ticket that didn’t match ze passport name and ze information
A lot of seriously disgruntled City fans who, like myself spent thousands getting over to Italy, time off work etc to be told by ze authority we are not allowed to support ‘our’ team
Thts it for me personally after 44 years of going here there and everywhere I am finished,I’ll never go again which is a shame as I have loved it but the love has gone, they have taken the enjoyment away from it
The next time I hear anyone mention empty seats or see Pep encouraging the fans to make noise I will go ballistic
They have built this great big stadium but the likes of me are not welcome
The club doesn’t want me
My post will probably disappear as a lot of my words are not welcome on this forum for some reason my opinion isn’t as welcome as others
Did you read the criteria before buying?

He probably did, but all he wanted to do is watch City play Juventus in Turin.

City fans don’t have any history of violence in Italy.

City don’t have an Ultra following. FOC’s definitely.

City fans behave when they travel abroad.

CIty could have communicated that to Juve and to the Turin Police.

Once again, genuine City fans who just want to watch City play in Europe are paying the price for European domestic football problems and violence in other European countries. Or fuck ups in a coach park after a CL final in Istanbul, etc.
.

Have a bit of sympathy.

It's a legal requirement, the Italian government aren't going to change their laws are they?

The above is emotional claptrap.
This has nothing to do with City, they did everything they could to pre warn supporter's of the criteria to gain access to the ground.
These are government regulations in Italy for everyone .

Agree with a lot of that but, if you’re told explicitly that you need the name to match the passport etc, then don’t come crying when you’re not let in.

No, but try telling that to diehard City fans who will travel anywhere to see City play innEurope. You know exactly what I’m on about. You’ve done European away games, just like I have. You take that chance.

I’m sure the Turin Police have never had an easier day or two with 3000 away fans in Turin, all behaving, drinking and singing.

Even the Juve Ultras couldn’t be arsed attacking City fans from what I haven’t read.

Whilst over here GMP walk 1000’s of European away fans to the Etihad, allowing them to stop on main roads in town, so they can drum, wave flags, and chant. And inside the ground they can let off flares and smoke bombs.

I’m sure the next time City play Juve there will 100’s of tickets unsold. Lesson learnt by City fans.

City can warn all they want. City fans will always travel to support City in Europe. Next time in Turin and Italy City fans won’t travel. Lesson learnt.

Oh I totally agree you take the chance, but you don't then moan if they uphold the law of their land. And you certainly don't blame City when there is literally nothing City could have done.

Yet some City fans got in. So chances will always be taken. Italian domestic fan behaviour shouldn’t impact on CL away fans.

I did Naples away. No trouble at all from City fans. Napoli Ultras were looking for trouble the night before the game, and on the day. City fans didn’t bite. Naples Police were out in force on the day of the match. City fans were drinking around the coach pick up point. No trouble.

Fans will always moan because they hope they will get in, like they have done in the past. This time the ticket checks were more stringent. Fair play to the Italians. But some City fans still argued their way in.
