I have to be honest, for the first time under Pep I'm starting to think we'd be better without him now... I'm giving him until the end of January.
Signing a player of that Calibre is pure nonsense for us anyway unless they have a release clause. This is reasons of why the talk of Rodri calibre level of player can be done in January is just pure nonsense.
I said it after 3 games ;)I said about 4 games in we were getting away with absolute murder and looked miles off it and got absolutely slaughtered.
Probably the same way if we had social media then, don’t forget back then it didn’t cost a lot to follow City back then, people have spent £100s to go abroad to see that shite which is the same as last week etc. At what point can they vent because we were shit 16 years ago, Pep needs to change the system for the players available.
None of that should matter, if Pep would cut his cloth, according to what we’ve got available. Continuing to play that high line, with no pressing and slow ball is just suicidal.
Can’t we ever just sit deep, in a low block and attempt to play on the counter?
Decent players in Jan will be a problem, first acquiring them and then the old "it takes a season to adapt to Peps ways" routine.Things are not going to be getting any better until we can get replacements in January, if they do indeed come then. I expect we just have to accept we are going to struggle to win any games in the next 2-3 weeks. Any points we get between now and then I’m taking as a bonus.
At this point I would just play the u21s ahead of Walker, Gundogan, Lewis and a few others as at least they will have some energy and let’s be honest they can’t be any worse.
This season is now about digging in and surviving somehow. We will probably be somewhere around 8th come January, but it’s totally doable to come back from there and still get top 4.
