Juventus (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

We did have some good shape to the team in the first half and I was feeling positive at half time, not necessarily thinking we would win but happy with a point.

2nd half we started picking up recent bad habits and losing our shape. It felt like players were starting to lose patience and do their own thing.

We had a fairly strong first XI too out on the pitch compared to other matches, just the bench that wasn’t strong. When I say strong first XI I mean as in from the squad we have, at beginning of season we would think this team against Juve would be good enough to win. No Ake and no Akanji we used to win games without them in the team, so we can’t say that was the difference.

They won’t need to. Sit in, don’t concede (unlikely as we go from side to side, backwards, side to side and backwards again) wait for us to roll it to one of them, play the ball into the half way line on one wing and then wait for 7 City players to run over there like an under 11’s team, play the ball to the other side, and bingo, they’ll have a 5 on 2.
Then when they’ve scored, we will play like we’re 5-0 up and just walk about with the ball until we fall for that counter attack stuff, yet again….
You have just summed up the last ten games.

The annoying thing is this season looks like it could be one of softest CL in terms of competition in year, with a lot of the usual top teams off their best

Who the fuck is our Captain? And when I mean Captain, who is the leader on the pitch? I really don't know...

If we have got to the point where nobody can take ownership on the pitch then there is something wrong.
There’s one - Dias.

The rest aren’t vocal leaders.

We looked good at times but we have become such an easy win for the opposition at the moment.
Everyone can see that we're getting caught on the break and conceding the same goal every fucking week!

Even the commentators are stunned.

If Pep doesn't trust the kids then we desperately need both right and left fullbacks, a DM and a striker in January.
We need them as a minimum with another MF and probably a central defender. We'll be lucky to get 1 in Jan.

We're scared to take risks because we know we're vulnerable. So we play safe and slow, and get punished anyway. That forces us to come out and play with more purpose, but we get punished for that too because we weren't wrong about the vulnerability.

Meek when we should be bold. Brittle when we should be free-flowing.

This is absolutely not just an absence of Rodri problem, but every match we play without him seems to justify that Ballon d'Or more. He certainly does have a useful habit of being everywhere we need him to be on the pitch.

Glad to see all the "we just need to tweak it a bit" clowns have fucked off from the post match threads. The regression in us is staggering. It's getting absurd now how poor we've become with no sign of an upturn in any way, shape or form. Really cheesed off with how we're doing at the minute.

I said about 4 games in we were getting away with absolute murder and looked miles off it and got absolutely slaughtered.

I thought our midfield up was playing well until the inevitable goal went in.

Walker was a fucking embarrassment on the first goal. And possibly the second. Lewis is a piece of piss to play against. I don’t get it. Pep’s moved far superior players on. He’s a bench player at best right now, and josko isn’t a wide defender.

The 3 of them together have destroyed our season.

We are fucked this year, there’s no instant fix for this. Need at least 2 full backs, DM and a dynamic creator in fast. That’s not easy Jan business.
Gvardiol failed to clear the ball to Walker, missing him badly. Then, the cross. Both have been terrible at defending this season, and they are not alone.
