Juventus (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Any team with Walker, Lewis, Gundogan and Bernardo at the moment is going to struggle. Gundogan and Walker don’t have the legs for top level football anymore. Lewis is physically weak in the tackle and Bernardo offers very little in attack or defence.

Doesn’t help that Ederson dropped a clanger or Gvardiol doesn’t know how to use his size.

Since we won the treble we have wasted every transfer window. Now we find ourselves with an ageing and injury prone midfield and defence. We have removed any goal threat from the team. We have wingers that don’t score or create and our best creator is injury ravaged. Our player of the year’s form has fallen off a cliff. At the moment Haaland and Gvardiol are our only goal threats.

Unfortunately unless we get some reinforcements in January top 4 will be out of reach.

Sunday will be the first time since Pep arrived that I’m dreading the derby.

Bland, toothless and so, so predictable to the point of being sleep inducing. Body language awful as well. Serious problems all round but I'm looking forward to the total rebuild because that's what's needed.
Every game You hope it’s a things can only get better point, but it continues to get worse

Football is not video game, you can't just expect the players that have been playing in certain ways for more than 6 years suddenly playing defense counter attacking playing style and being adept at it within weeks.
I think learning to play the Pep way is considerably more difficult than playing how Juventus played tonight. Or Sporting, or Feyenoord, or Spurs.

We haven't been great all season, we started pretty poor and its now become whatever the hell we call this.

Clappers said it was a mere blip though.
We played well at Chelsea, we played sort of well against Ipswich and then the performances took a drop. We were getting away with results for weeks until we finally got exposed.

Pep is stubborn and won’t change his philosophy, he does need commending for that , we have become a team of the first 45 minutes , almost every defeat we have played well in the first half , we get overrun in second halves , the question is why ? it’s baffling how we fall apart in the second half of games on such a consistent basis , I’m of the opinion we will click on Sunday , they are dogshite , it’s become a season where the derbies are the cup finals , and hopefully scrape top four.
I don't think he needs to change his philosophy, he just needs to tweak it.

We should be making sure that first and foremost, we don't concede goals. If we played 5 yards deeper then I don't think we'd have lost tonight. Surely we have enough quality in Bernardo, KdB, Doku, Haaland to score at least one goal per game?!

We need to go back to basics and build on it.

Pep changed our shape...
Grealish wide left, Doku right ,Bernardo floating.

No threat after that cos none of those players did anything positive.

Subs too late, including Nunes at 90minutes ffs !!

We played the last five minutes as though we were only one down. There was no urgency at all.

He should have made all 5 subs on 65 minutes.

We weren’t that bad. We just didn’t do enough. They took two chances and defended well.
We were awful. We never really threatened them. Haaland had one chance in the first half., that's it.
They score the first from awful defending and a second that every team score against us.
We never learn.

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. It just wasn’t to be.
Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. We need to still hold our heads up high. We will come back again. We are MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.

Just keep trying, keep giving your all. We’re behind you all the way.
Thank you.
We ARE and at some point we WILL, we may have to wait a little bit though.
